Meeting prep

FunnelStory sends you an AI-generated briefing in Slack shortly before a meeting with a customer account, so you can walk in prepared without digging through account history yourself. Meeting prep runs automatically in the background — there's nothing to open or generate on demand.

How it works

FunnelStory watches your connected calendar for upcoming meetings. When a meeting includes at least one external attendee it can match to an account in your workspace, it builds a summary covering:

  • The account (or accounts) involved and their health
  • Recent activity and engagement
  • Recent feature requests, with links where available
  • Notes from previous meetings and discussions
  • Open action items, with the relevant contact and links

The summary skips any section it has nothing to say about — you won't see an empty "Open action items" heading if there aren't any.

What you see

About 30 minutes before the meeting starts, FunnelStory sends you a Slack direct message with the meeting title (linked to the meeting itself, if a link is available), the date and time, the external participants, the account(s) involved (linked to the account's page in FunnelStory), and the AI-generated summary below.

If a meeting is created or detected with less than 15 minutes' notice, FunnelStory skips prep for it rather than sending a summary too late to be useful. Meetings with no attendee FunnelStory can match to an account are skipped entirely — meeting prep only covers customer meetings.

Configuration

Meeting prep has no in-app toggle — it runs whenever both of these are connected for your user:

  1. A calendar connection. Open Settings → Calendar Settings and choose Authorize Calendar to connect your calendar. FunnelStory needs this to see your upcoming meetings.
  2. A Slack connection, mapped to your FunnelStory user. See Slack for how your workspace connects Slack. If your account isn't linked to a Slack user, FunnelStory still generates the briefing but can't deliver it.

Without both connected, meeting prep won't reach you — there's no separate opt-in, but nothing sends until both prerequisites are in place.
