Contacts

Contacts are the people at your customer accounts — the stakeholders you and your team communicate with, as distinct from your own team members. Open the Contacts view (/contacts) whenever you need to look up a specific person, or browse everyone FunnelStory has seen at an account.

This is different from the Stakeholder profile section on an Account Dossier, which shows an AI-synthesized summary of a contact's role, priorities, and use cases — Contacts is the underlying directory of people, not the AI-generated read on them. The two are related (they draw on the same people) but are separate parts of the product; see Account Dossier for the synthesized view.

How contacts are identified

FunnelStory doesn't require you to add contacts manually — it identifies them automatically from the systems you've connected: CRM contact records (HubSpot, Salesforce), support tickets (Zendesk, Intercom, and others), meeting attendees (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and others), and conversation participants (email, Slack). A contact is matched to an account primarily by email domain.

Because contacts are populated this way, the fields available on any given contact vary — a contact synced from your CRM typically has a name, title, and company; one that FunnelStory only saw in a meeting invite may have just an email address until richer data comes in from another source.

Viewing contacts

  • All contacts — the global Contacts view lists every contact across your workspace, with Name, Title, and Email columns and a search box for finding someone by name or email.
  • An account's contacts — open an account and go to its Contacts sub-tab (under Adoption) to see only the people matched to that account.

Selecting a contact opens its detail view: name, email, title, and when it was first added, along with any additional fields your workspace has captured — shown as raw properties you can edit directly.

What you can't do (yet)

There's no manual Add Contact flow — contacts arrive only through connected data sources. There's also no merge tool in the UI for combining duplicate contacts, even though FunnelStory's data model supports it internally.

  • Account Dossier — the AI-synthesized Stakeholder profile for an account's contacts.
  • Relationship Risk Configuration — a related but separate system that scores account engagement; it does not read from the Contacts directory.
  • CRM sync — one of the main sources contacts sync from.
